After being blown away by Petra I was surprised how impressed I was with the desert – pretty bloomin’ amazing it was!
The “Lawrence of Arabia” stone – or something to that effect. Apparently he stopped off for water here once…
The big red sand dune I walked up – barefoot as instructed by my tour guide – way easier and more fun!
The view from the top of the dune was not too shabby at all…
The word “craggy” comes to mind…
Pretty chuffed with myself for conquering the dune!
Off into the crags we go…
Carvings and paintings in the walls – they’re also apparently dead old.
This one’s definitely my favourite!
Tree growing out of a rock, like you do…
Me up on the little rock bridge
Here come the camels! I literally can’t get enough of them!
The driver dropped me off here and told me to keep walking through the canyon until I found him on the other side… Except he didn’t mention the massive pile of boulders at one end that I’d have to climb up first!
Luckily I did make it to the top though!
Here’s the big rock bridge that I in no way had the balls to climb up and stand on!
And it was here of all places that I bumped into a colleague from the Philippines! Such a small world when you literally run into each other in the middle of the desert…
Another gorgeous red sand dune…
Yup, I was most definitely here!
The fab Bedouin camp I stayed at overnight – right in the middle of the national reserve/park.
Pretty great spot to watch the sun set. Except it was starting to get mighty chilly by this point!
Moonrise at sunset…
Huddled round the fire with some nice hot tea on the go – luverly!
Good morning Wadi Rum! Splediferous desert!
